Lindley Armstrong "Spike" Jones (December 14, 1911 – May 1, 1965)[1] was an American musician and bandleader specializing in spoof arrangements of popular songs and classical music. Ballads receiving the Jones treatment were punctuated with gunshots, whistles, cowbells, hiccups, burps, and outlandish and comedic vocals. "60 years of music America hates best" is a compilation album, released in 1960 under Liberty Records.
